Jørem ved Namsen

Close to nature

Welcome to Jørem

Jørem is located in Grong, in the middle of Norway. Surrounded by the famous salmon river Namsen, and within walking distance to wonderful hunting and hiking areas, Jørem is a perfect base for great fishing and nature experiences.
At the farm we grow ecological ancient original grains and we run a small craft brewery and bakery. In the bakery we use flour from our own grain.

We are part of the cooperation Elvelangs Namsen, which is a network of small companies and stores along the river Namsen.

Salmon fishing

River Namsen is called the queen of rivers. The largest salmon ever fished in the river, was caught at Jørem in 1924, and weighed 31,5 kilos. (The salmon in the picture is "only" 23 kg)

Jørem salmon beat is about 4,5 kilometers, with exciting stretches suitable for both land fishing and harling (boat fishing). The upper parts are especially perfect for fly fishing.
We mainly offer fishing and accommodation to one or two groups at the same time, but in some periods, we sell personal day licenses. The fishing season starts at June 1th and ends at August 31th.

Experience local food

We offer homemade and natural food, based on local ingredients; preferably self-grown, self-hunted, self-fished, self-picked or from other local farmers and producers. We serve lunch and dinner in the guesthouse, and home made pizza straight from the wood-burning stone-stove in the baking house. And of course, we offer beer from our own craft brewery to drink to your meal.
In the farm bakery, buns and bread are baked on organic flour from our own grain. The bakery is usually open every second Friday.
